Der Oberst 05:29
In death you will be innocent Just like the rest of us Everything you gave me I give back Just look at the table For an explanation Of everything that isn't much Of course you know the color of the moon Of course you know i love you, but it doesn't matter Of course you know Of course you know
2.
Die Elbe 04:50
Get out, get out, get out, get out I don't reek of lilies and roses Your pale green lady is filled with oil and rotted fish The trick to living is learning to let go It's time to shut up and it's time to give up, right now Get out, get out, get out, get out Tomorrow is without you, Other You don't even have a face, say "yes" and go away The trick to living is learning to let go It's time to shut up and it's time to give up, right now There is no answer There is no answer There is no answer The fire has almost completely burned out The fire has almost completely burned out The fire has almost completely burned out The fire...

arbitrary speech in a sorcery of sound try to connect all our brains--moving our tongues around the notions that endure do not resemble the truth of the knowledge we convey there is not an ounce of proof to pour into a glass now that our days are done we will sleep and we will not awake til everyone is one and two of you are born to speak an ancient word each one that is as meaningful as one you already heard wishes on the floor, wishes never come to rest the words you feed into my spine, in harshness they caress the thoughts that do not have a name have finally struck the nerve of the knowledge upon which they float and for which we reserve the right to come again into the sea of flesh it may not be a home at all, but it seems we are enmeshed in silks that we have forged that bind us to the earth and none of us are truly free, except from death til birth

When I speak to you, it makes me want to feel you steal the warmth inside my body til there's nothing left it's not like there was anything inside for once or ever after realizing time is an illusion Sensations of your breath beyond your teeth into my ear canals, they make me feel the weights are lifted that were holding my feet to the ground all these years and of course this life's worth living -- It's not like we were doing anything else with our time, anyway The equinox will come and go, and still I'll have no words for you no way to connect traces of the masks that we were born with into something you might recognize as human for even half a moment and silence spreads across the lips that separate to reveal I have cracked and there might be a person underneath the jumbled mess of meat and bone and water flowing and of course this life's worth living -- It's not like we were doing anything else with our time, anyway One day I heard you say you say too many words and I cannot conceive a bigger tragedy because if you open your mouth, let every errant thought spill out, well I cannot conceive a better afternoon than just to sit an hear Hearing there might be a better way to be the sort of person who can penetrate their own perception realize there's nothing that we can really know and of course this life's worth living -- It's not like we were doing anything else with our time anyway

The Box 02:50
Please, please, please, my friend, won't you take away all my hope? I don't think I can stand to be let down again. The box is already open The box is already open It has been so long to be holding on to nothing The nothing that we have held under our lids

Far from the light into something else for it to be. In between all it. Far from you. Please don't make it like this. Please don't make it like this. Please don't make it like this. Seeping through the spaces. A hint of a human. From the time that has never been.
8.
The Fire 03:28
You are worth more to me than all of the bees that fit inside my mind If we try hard enough, we might find out Contrary to the rumors, none of this is real But who knows, we might be happy being things The fire has almost completely died out The embers barely have a flame Of course you know, of course you know, of course you know... NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

about

Someone a couple months into the pandemic said "we haven't seen any art come out of the pandemic, and this is because suffering isn't where people get art". Or something of the sort. That is in part true -- art comes from everywhere -- but it still made me personally angry as a reflection of disposable culture. The reason barely anyone saw pandemic art in June of 2020 is that most people were just starting it, and things take time.

This isn't pandemic art, not directly, but it's related to the fact that at times, one will start telling a story, and that story won't be the same one by the time you reach the end. There's a conclusion to this one, but it's not ready to be said yet. This line may change.

Even so, this is the most personal(and melodramatic) i've ever been about anything, warts and all, so that probably counts for something.

This project never would have been completed without early listening and sound/production feedback from a few people, N, D, E, J, B, and L(whose names will fill in these initials if they desire but who otherwise know who they are), as well as the Corral, the Demon Farmers, and a couple others who know who they are who kept me emotionally upright these past couple years.

We aren't good at writing this kind of stuff, so this is probably all the explaining anyone is going to get.
